Challenge: An all-in-one system for sales and various markets

HAILO, with its Home & Business, Built-in Technology and Professional divisions, serves a variety of target groups in both B2B and B2C environments – each with its own product range structures, pricing and international requirements.

Central platform for brand and processes

The challenge was to bring this complex sales and brand structure together in a central e-business system that supports multilingualism, country-specific content and customer-specific permissions. The aim was to establish consistent brand communication, harmonise cross-departmental processes and consolidate existing websites in a user-friendly and SEO-friendly manner.

Our approach: Holistic system architecture

To implement the digital sales strategy, a high-performance system architecture was created that goes far beyond traditional shop functions. At its core is a close integration of e-commerce, ERP, product data management, marketing and customer service. Through intelligent integrations, advanced functions and target group-specific enhancements, a future-proof platform has been created that optimally meets both technical and communication requirements.

Shopware 6 as a central platform for B2B & B2C

Shopware 6 brings together all business areas (Home & Business, Installation Technology, Professional) into a scalable platform for both retail and business customers. Structured product ranges, cross-channel links (e.g. spare parts) and a closed B2B area with customer-specific prices enable differentiated offers from a single system.

Internationalisation & Performance

The shop is available in four languages (DE, EN, FR, NL), including country-specific product ranges and payment methods such as iDEAL. Additional payment methods (including Klarna, PayPal, Apple Pay) are processed via Payone. Doofinder enhances product search, whilst dynamic shipping logic (DHL, GLS, freight forwarders) and automated product feeds (Google, Meta, billiger.de, Amazon via Channable) ensure reach and efficiency.

Configuration & Services

The CustomX configurator enables direct ordering of complex stair solutions. Trusted Shops and Cookiebot ensure legal compliance. ERP-based rights, pricing and after-sales services are integrated into the B2B account.

ERP Integration & Technical Extensions

The direct connection to SAP S/4HANA enables automated data exchange between the shop and the ERP system. Product information, stock levels, prices and customer data are synchronised in real time. This ensures that all sales processes run smoothly, are up to date and operate efficiently – from the shopping basket to the invoice.

PIM & Other Interfaces

For product information management (PIM), HAILO relied on an existing data system that allowed content to be efficiently prepared for e-commerce. Proprietary interfaces to the ERP system provided customer data, including authorisations, prices and delivery terms. burgdigital supplemented the setup with interfaces for importing product data into the e-business system, as well as tools for data validation and cleansing.

Enhanced product data & retailer infrastructure

Technical products are supplemented with key planning data through the integration of CAD files – a clear advantage for architects, planners and business customers. At the same time, a dynamic retailer search ensures that users can quickly find suitable specialist retailers for each business area – filtered by region and always up to date.

Marketing & Leadmanagement

Together with HAILO and the agency DauHerkert, burgdigital developed a consistent UX design for all business areas. Thanks to burgdigital’s SEO support – including the use of Google Search Console to analyse indexing, technical aspects and visibility – visibility remained stable after the relaunch and was even increased.

HubSpot & Sovendus

HubSpot (Marketing Hub & Service Hub) is used to systematically capture and track leads, converting them into personalised campaigns. Sovendus enhances the checkout process with voucher and marketing initiatives to boost conversion rates and customer loyalty.
